The Sketching Continues...

I'm still working on the desertscape sketches and for the first time in a long time, I'm enjoying this part of the creative process.  Sometimes, it's so tempting for me to rush into a new a painting or series without slowing down long enough savor this crucial stage....I'm so very thankful for this particular season in my art career; Jesus is certainly teaching me a lot.    : )

More sketches coming in a couple of days.....

Re your comment about sharing yourself online:
I can't share a lot because I'm a public school teacher; I teach teenagers, and they're very computer savvy. My bosses have fired a teacher for blogging about school events. So I'm careful what I blog about, and I use an alias. I don't do Facebook, but I am a member of an artist's community on the Ning network. The people there are creative in various media, and we encourage each other through conversations, swaps and sharing photos.
So, your blog doesn't have to reveal anything you don't want to share. (Just start with what you had for breakfast-lol. JK) Some people visit other artist's blogs to get them to reciprocate; some are content with few visitors.
As long as you share your work, or thoughts on your journey, or inspiration, that's fine.
Keep making art! The world needs you.

  4. You're a teacher; how cool!! I can see why you would need to be careful about what you share. I think I may be conservative with blogging right now simply because of time constraints, but as time allows, I'm sure I'll pick up the pace.
